Shiromizu

Shiromizu is a study of nature in 3D space. Loosely based on Minoh waterfall park in Osaka, Japan, this project sought to capture the understated beauty and subtlety of Japan’s suburban parks. Some buildings and other setpieces attempt to be faithful recreations of the real-life Minoh park, while others are simply imaginative. This project uses a mix of my own assets, and assets found in online libraries. I contributed all the buildings, many of the trees, the temple, and a number of less consequential, decorative pieces.

As a project done early in my career, this project lacks the thorough documentation that I would later develop as part of my artistic process. As such, many of the assets involved in this project no longer exist in their original states or at all, and are not good candidates for asset breakdown images.

Models were made in Autodesk Maya. Textures were made in Adobe Substance and Photoshop. Animated foliage made via SpeedTree Modeler. Landscape, effects, and engine rendering done in Unreal Engine V
